The mission of the Mountain Post Hero's Discount Card program is to provide the families of deployed soldiers with significant value-based discounts up to 60 days prior to deployment through 60 days after redeployment within the local DFMWR and the Colorado Springs Business Community.

The program provides the opportunity for Army families to find and take advantage of numerous discounted services, programs, and products offered by the DFMWR and Colorado Springs business communities for the Fort Carson family member with a spouse in deployed status.

How it Works:

The Mountain Post Hero's Discount Card is issued by Fort Carson to soldiers through their unit two months prior to deployment. The card is valid for a period of 16 months. The soldier and his family go to the official web site to find participating businesses: www.MyFortCarsonMWR.com. The web site is powered by Colorado Springs Military Discounts. The soldier and family simply take their card and military ID to the participating business to receive the discount.

In order to participate in the program, a business must offer a substantial discount to families of deployed soldiers. Generally, the discount will be 20% or higher. Since business needs vary, the discount may be offered only on certain days or on certain services. While the amount of the discount is mandated, the scope of the discount may vary. The particular details of each discount will be noted on the site.

Participating businesses pay a small advertising fee that maintains the web site. Each participating business receives a window cling to post at their business, identifying them as a participant in the program.
